Emily Hall
Emily trained at Dartington College of Arts (BA Hons. Music Performance, joint study violin and voice) later taking a PGCE in Secondary Music and an MA in Museum Studies focusing on music as interpretation and organology.
Graduating from Dartington, she played with Psapp for a world tour, worked as an accompanist for Laban dance, and joined Lila Cita gamelan as a performer. Moving onto an historic boat rekindled her childhood love of folk music, and after releasing an album with Rory Mulligan and the Imaginary Band and playing with Dr Bluegrass and the Illbilly 8, she started teaching groups fiddle from scratch to share her love of English folk music. With 20 years’ experience as a professional musician, she is an engaging and creative performer across disciplines, composing, recording and teaching as an integral part of her practice as a fiddle player and singer. Site - specificity has always been a theme in her music, and her love of the natural world dovetails with her signature folk sound to produce a fiddle style that conjures a picture of her natural surroundings.
